This was a crack house. I watched drug deals go down here all day and night. On New Year’s Day 2013 a man emerged from the house and openly urinated on the front lawn. I hate the McMansions in Oakhurst, but I was not sorry to see this one go. The new home is a 1.5 story home that seems to be a good compromise between sweet little bungalow and hotel-sized McMansion. I liked Oakhurst better when people were willing to not buy so much stuff in order to live in a smaller footprint in a beautiful, walkable, diverse community. And by smaller I mean a 3/2 as opposed to a 5/4. Spend money to live your life, not house your stuff. And let’s save some smaller homes so that singles and couples without kids can be part of the Oakhurst community.
So the house was guilty?

Recycle bin or landfill bin? Decatur's Oakhurst neighborhood prefers sending single-family homes to the landfill bin rather than the recycle bin.
